The Hunger Games

Now, I like Harry Potter - and those of you who have read my posts will understand just how much I like it. I always thought it was very well written as well. It was my favourite book.
Until another book came onto my shelves.
The Hunger Games, I had been told, was brilliant. They were making a film of it now! But I have heard many people say how brilliant a book is and that a film is being made from it (Cormac McCarthy's The Road, for example) which I have thought were terrible! Then my mum bought it for me and insisted I try it out, so that she could read it after me if it was any good, so I did. I tried it out.
I then I spent the majority of the next two days riveted to the most brilliantly written, exciting and riveting book I had ever come across!
Yes, Harry Potter is all very imaginative and very lovely to read - but I really got to know Katniss! I was in her world!
So it is true! The Hunger Games is the new Harry Potter.
Absolutely brilliant!
(This does not stop my love of Harry Potter, it has just proved to me that books can get better than it!)

  1. I know what you mean. I've often avoided a book just because everyone else kept going on about how good it was and I was sure it couldn't live up to the hype. But I'm glad you discovered The Hunger Games in the end. It's awesome!

    1. This one really does live up to the hype. It's incredible :D I'm so desperate to read the second one, it's almost tempting to read the first one again! I love the world she's created, it's brilliant :)
